What is an apostille?

 

What is an apostille? It consists in applying a Hague Apostille, or an extension of the same, which certifies the authenticity of the signature on public documents that have been issued in a country which has signed the Hague Convention. The sworn translator must also translate the Apostille.
Where can it be requested? FOR JUDICIAL AND ADMINISTRATIVE PUBLIC DOCUMENTS:

Central Office of the Citizen Services of the Ministry of Justice

Ministry of Justice Regional Offices and Branch Offices in Ceuta and Melilla

Government Secretaries of the Supreme Courts of Justice and the cities of Ceuta and Melilla

FOR PRIVATE DOCUMENTS WHOSE SIGNATURES HAVE BEEN CERTIFIED BEFORE A NOTARY PUBLIC:

Notaries Societies or the Notary Publics to whom they have delegated
